9th Annual River Days

May 12 – 20, 2012.
33 events are taking place from Santa Ysabel to Ocean Beach including hikes, bike rides, river cleanups, history tours and much more. There truly is something for everyone during this two weekend celebration. Events are family friendly and free of charge thanks to Think Blue San Diego, SDG&E and other sponsors.
According to Rob Hutsel, Executive Director of The San Diego River Park Foundation, “River Days is an annual tradition that offers a great way for people to join others in exploring all the river has to offer.  There are also some great ways to give back to the community including the 2nd annual Youth Day of Service, where 1000 people are anticipated to perform 8 different community service projects on Saturday, May 19th. We invite San Diego to come out and join us!”
Thanks to Sea World, participating kids will also have a chance to receive a limited number  of free Sea World tickets, too!”

Create A Skate Workshop! Presented by UCSD Health

SDMoM, CreateASkate.org, and UCSD Health are teaming up for an exciting hands-on event where participants get to design their very own skateboard deck! Everyone is welcome to be a part of this creative workshop. Experts and artists will be on hand to guide the creative process, providing tips and techniques for tricking out an epic skate deck!
CreateAskate.org’s program is so much more than just building a skateboard deck; parents have been amazed to see their child’s interest and enthusiasm spread to other areas of their lives.
